Games!!

We spent a great amount of time during our Oregon vacation playing games - all kinds of new and entertaining games I hadn't even heard of!  There was Bandu, where you get to build towers from the oddest wooden shapes.
The trick is, you don't really get to pick your own building blocks.  People who want your tower to topple get to manipulate which pieces play a part in your balancing act.  And, some people take this responsibility very seriously...
You end up with some very precarious towers!
Then, there was Wits and Wagers - A game that uses trivia, but doesn't expect you to know it.  You use your wits to guess, then wager on whose guess is most accurate, so you can still win even if you haven't a clue!
Next up, Funglish!  The game for the word nerd in all of us.  It comes with a whole pile of random words on color-coded cards (categorizing positive things from negative things, and active words from texture words, etc.)  You draw one of those blue-bordered cards and work your way through the words on it...
...placing the descriptive word tiles in the appropriate section of the display board as the other players yell out their guesses for the words on your card.  No charade action allowed - you just have to move the tiles around if you are leading them astray.  So challenging, and so much fun!
We also went bowling, and spent the time waiting for a free lane in the arcade.

I think I would love the Bandu game. I often stack things when bored.
