Yes, folks! The weekend after Swamp Stomp found us driving across the great state of Oregon to spend a very rainy weekend in Portland vending at the Rose City Roundup.
This show really put our booth setup to the test. Every ounce of merchanise and display items was completely soaked by the end of it. We spent the first half hour rubbing all the metal down with WD40 and I could literally ring out the table cloth by the end - and it was mostly under the canopy! Amazing how that misting rain really adds up when it. doesn't. stop. There was a good-sized puddle right outside our booth, where we got to watch a toddler figure out just how fun it was to splash! His mom was cool about it 'til he decided to take a seat right in the middle of it... I think that kid's going to be just fine growing up in such a rainy city!
Besides standing around hoping for a sale or two, we took turns wandering out to look at the cars.
The show was about half the size they had predicted. It might be fair to blame the weather. But, there were still over 100 cars - from the smooth customs...
...to the rather scary, although eyecatching, customs...
One thing about this car-building crowd - there are all types. People and cars!
