Barefoot Photo Walk
I quite honestly have the best little sister in the world.
After our marathon road trip to Burley and back, she stayed for a couple of days before catching her flight back to much-too-far-away PA. 18 hours in a car together had used up all our storytelling, but we worked on computer projects together, laughing uncontrollably as we do, and just having a lovely time.
The evening before Bethers had to leave, the sky put on a show! We saw some cool sun rays through the windows and stepped outside with our cameras to get a better look. Well, the whole sky was filled with awesome clouds of all shapes and shades, and it drew us down the quiet street on a spontaneous photo walk...barefoot of course. Shoes means planning ahead!

Let's Get Together
The end of June brought Bethers to Moscow, to ride with me to Burley to see our clan. Andy was working in central Idaho and met us there. The weekend plans were perfect for this hard-working, easy-to-entertain group. A concrete patio was poured Thursday night, and then we split into two teams for the next two days of house-raising and fence-building. Any guesses which team we chose? :)
That's right - I finally got to be part of construction crew! After all the plans I've drawn, it was a great experience to see it come together in person, to work through the challenges on site, and mostly just to sweat side-by-side with some of my favorite people.
The older kiddos helped with the projects or entertained the younger ones. I'd say the working bug has made it to the next generation though, as their idea of fun was scrubbing all the homebuilders' vehicles!
We enjoyed down time together too, and after two long days in the merciless high desert sun, rewarded ourselves with an evening swim at the public pool.

All Wheels Weekend
This year, our car club chose a few semi-local shows to try out for the first time. Mid-June found us cruising to Dayton, WA for their popular All Wheels Weekend. We drove the '49 GMC, complete with our portable "speedometer" ;)
There were so many events listed for Saturday, we decided to go Friday night, pulling the old camper so we could enjoy the full day and travel back the day after. Ours was a head-turning campsite alongside all the huge motor homes with their showers and tv's and even garages. 
Saturday was full to the brim with things to see and do. It really is no wonder they call it ALL Wheels Weekend with the car show, lawn mower races, tricycle "drag" races, speeder rail car rides, dirt track races, and demolition derby. What a day!
