To the East: Day Hike

A sure way to feel like you belong in a new place is to spend some quality time exploring the outdoors.
Suzie, Bethers, and I spent our weary, overcast Saturday wandering about French Creek State Park.  There are color-coded trails, and a we had a sketchy map to help us follow them around one man-made lake with a waterfall, to the shore of another, across unlabeled roads, past beaver-damaged trees, intriguing fungi, and show-off birds, tripping over the endless myriad of tree roots that forgot to stay underground.
It wasn't your typical hike to a destination, and it wasn't uneventful wandering.  It was a sisterly adventure - silly posing, skipping, slo-mo running, singing Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang songs...
Sadly, this happy tale wraps up the PA adventures.  Must go again!
