Wednesday, we just took it easy. We explored the resort grounds, and discovered a happy little bridge and a pond full of brightly-colored koi.
Then, we followed this meandering stone walkway down to the beach.
The ocean was a brilliant blue under yet another cloudless sky, the waves were rolling into shore one after another, the sand was more than a little warm, and there were sailboats!
...and ultralights flying!
We enjoyed some beachcombing and sunshine, but unfortunately could not take a dip in the ocean. This part of the coast has a dangerous riptide. In fact, they have guards along the beach to keep people away from the crashing waves.
So, I still haven't been in a warm ocean, but there's just something about walking barefoot in the sand and hearing the waves that makes me love the ocean anyway!
For dinner that night, we went to Romeo y Julieta. They had a great courtyard we chose to eat in, somebody was right inside playing the piano, their homemade pasta was delicious, and the salad!...
...The salad, they make right in front of you! All the ingredients for an amazing Cesar salad were brought out, and Florencio was more than happy to answer our questions about the dressing as he tossed it all together. He posed for this photo, and even asked if I'd be putting it on the facebook and making him famous!
