As we sit through the first presentation, Ros gets a phone call from our missing group members. They have broken down and are waiting for a lift back to campus!
Thank goodness for traditional tea time - it saves us! We are scheduled to go after tea, and it is at this scheduled break that our missing teammates show up with the files and we are able to look it over and review what we will say. Unfortunately, an angry Jason also uses this break to ream the latecomers, and their spirits are thrashed. We carry on and actually pull off an organized and quite successful presentation! Lunch follows the last presentation, and we sit as a group in the courtyard discussing the morning's drama. Sabhdh and Jen are in tears, feeling badly about being late. We pass around the reassurances and hugs and all that, and then settle down to enjoy some lunch. Jason comes by a bit later to call a meeting of our group, and we reconvene away from the crowd. He apologizes for ending the wonderful week on a bad note, acknowledges the hard work we did do, and tells the latecomers that he owes them a mountain climb and a beer. He really is a genuine fellow and I sure was relieved to hear him give the lads some respect again! Kara takes a moment to say how much she's enjoyed the week and tells us to pat each other on the back, so we pass them 'round one way and then reverse and pass them 'round the other way. It's time now for Dan and I to find the rest of our Idahoans and catch the taxi to the train station. Some of the CAT group plans to be in London in a couple of weeks, but we hug them all like we won't see them again and run to catch our ride.
Back in London, we line up for new room assignments and race for the laundry room. My new room is HUGE! This time, I will have a roommate who is joining us late from the states. She'll arrive in a couple of days...
