Spring!!!

After another long, white winter, the signs of spring are finally emerging! I always look forward to this time of year and all the signs that we're in for the warm and happy time of year.
Once again, the pasture bordering our garden is populated by frolicking baby lambs and their plodding mothers. Their owner added some fences that keeps them on top of the hill and not as close to our property - harder to get good pictures!
However with our ultra-zoom camera, Andy managed to catch this red-breasted friend working to get a worm out of the semi-frozen ground!
Of course, Springtime also means lots of hard work to clean up from the mess-making winter, to get ready for things to grow. We managed to find some time between rainstorms and projects to work in the yard a bit. Andy redid 2 of the raised garden beds that were deteriorating horribly, and I worked to prune the trees before they started budding out. (This was a couple of weeks ago - the leaves have since started to form).
Also, in preparation of doing finish work on the Dodge, Andy took advantage of a nice day to pull the Buick out of the shop and get it off to our buddy Nick's shop for its temporary home. After a winter of snow piles in front of the shop door, that really was a sign of warmer times!
And, then of course, the most beautiful flowers ever invented just happen to bloom this time of year, and they are all over! The little purple and yellow ones in the bottom-right are actually a wildflower called Viola. They pop up like weeds, but we love 'em anyway. And, my most favorite - the red/yellow ones in the center - just opened this morning. I am so ready for this season!
